Saratoga Harness Racing Recap Wednesday 12/3

Trainer Gary Levine collected his 1,200th career victory on Wednesday’s card at Saratoga Casino Hotel. The veteran conditioner, who has called Saratoga home for the entirety of his career and won the training title at the Spa back in 2020, recorded a training double on the matinee. Levine’s Jeffery J overcame post eight to spring an upset in the afternoon’s second race. In a $10,000 event for young trotters, Jeffery J sat back in the early going before making his move approaching the half. The three-year-old picked off horses one-by-one before coming on to spring the upset at odds of 24-1. Jeffery J’s victory was number 1,200 in the career of Levine who has recorded nearly all of his wins at the Spa. Later in the day, Levine once again teamed up with leading driver Jimmy Devaux for a score as Mclady Of Hearts made good as her race’s odds-on favorite to prevail in a $10,000 race for trotters much like stablemate Jeffery J did earlier on in the card. Mclady Of Hearts dropped in company for her Wednesday tilt in which she scored decisively in front-running fashion. The win, which gave Levine number 1,201 for his career, was the fourth of the day for Devaux who is about to wrap-up his fourth driving title at Saratoga.

Live racing resumes on Sunday afternoon with a matinee that is set to kick off at 12pm.
