With no Open on the Tuesday docket, a $12,500 event for fillies and mares served as the Tuesday feature at Saratoga Casino Hotel. Pit Boss Hanover joined this class for the first time while stepping up in company following a claim from last week. The four year old mare has been a winning machine since coming to the Spa last year and rode a five-race win streak into her Tuesday try. Chris Long picked up the catch-drive for trainer Melissa Beckwith and moved Pit Boss Hanover first-over on class-dropping favorite Cyclone Sister (Wally Hennessey) before unloading on that one and opening up an insurmountable lead. Pit Boss Hanover extended her win streak to six with the Tuesday score that saw her prevail by two and a quarter lengths in a career-best 1:53.4. Jive Dancing A (Jimmy Devaux) closed to be second while Cyclone Sister earned the show spot. The win for Pit Boss Hanover was her eleventh of the season.
Live racing resumes on Sunday at Saratoga with a matinee that begins at 12pm.
