Trainer Kyle Spagnola enjoyed his best day of the season on Saturday at Saratoga Casino Hotel. The veteran Spa conditioner won the Saturday feature with Prairie Rocknroll and went on to record a hat trick on the card. Prairie Rocknroll won the $18,000 Open Pace for the third time this season when he completed a wire-to-wire score in 1:54.2. After being used hard to make it to the top in a first quarter of 26.4, Prairie Rocknroll had to hold off a late charge from rival Mr McLaren N (Larry Stalbum) to score his fourth win of the season and third in the Open. Billy Dobson sat behind Prairie Rocknroll during his Saturday score. Dobson also guided Spagnola trainees Rock Solid Express and Jimmy Jets to victories on the matinee card. Claiming pacer Jimmy Jets set a new lifetime mark when he parlayed his pocket ride to a 1:55.3 win. Spagnola’s Rock Solid Express went coast-to-coast in a $13,000 conditional race for pacers when the six-year-old registered his third win of the year stopping the timer in 1:53.2 in a mild upset. Spagnola, whose 2026 campaign got off to a bit of a slow start, has been in the midst of a hot streak in recent weeks led by his stable star Prairie Rocknroll.
