Saratoga Harness Racing Recap Monday 6/2

Big Box Hanover (Uncle Peter) is one of the winningest horses in the Open Trot at Saratoga Casino Hotel over the course of the last few seasons. On Monday afternoon, the Larry Stalbaum trainee added another victory to his tally when he overcame post eight to prevail for the second consecutive week. Billy Dobson catch-drove Big Box Hanover who raced parked out throughout the mile in the $16,000 feature for trotters. The eight-year-old veteran won for the fourth time of the season and third time in the local Open when he toughed it out overland to score in 1:56.1. Big Box Hanover, who is owned by his trainer Larry Stalbaum, paid $23.40 to win in the upset. Wania (Jimmy Devaux) closed to be second to Big Box Hanover on Monday while Four Sixes (Mark Beckwith) held on to be third.

Live racing continues on Tuesday at Saratoga with a matinee that begins at 12pm.
