Saratoga Casino Hotel to Host Blood Drive with the American Red Cross

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (Tuesday, July 19, 2016) – Saratoga Casino Hotel is teaming up with the American Red Cross to host a Blood Drive on Monday, July 25. Members of the local community are urged to join dozens of Saratoga Casino Hotel team members to give blood on Monday, July 25 from noon to 6pm inside Vapor.

The blood drive comes in response to the national emergency issued by the Red Cross due to recent shortages. As a result of an unusually low summer blood supply, the Red Cross issued the plea for increased donations at the beginning of July.

“Right now, blood products are being distributed to hospitals faster than donations are coming in, which is why we made this emergency request for donations,” said Patty Corvaia, Communications Manager of the New York-Penn Blood Services Region. “Donations are needed now to meet the needs of hospital patients in the coming days and weeks. If you’ve ever thought about giving blood and helping to save lives, now is the time to do it.”

To date, Saratoga Casino Hotel has collected over 1,000 blood donations at their biannual blood drives. The collections have gone on to directly help nearly 3,000 patients in need.

“Our team members and community always respond with great generosity to blood drives,” said Rita Cox, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Saratoga Casino Hotel. “We consider ourselves lucky to live and work in a community so dedicated to supporting those in need.”
