Saturday, October 12th
Natameri won the $15K Open Pace on Saturday. Wally Hennessey drove the 6-year-old horse who is trained by Jessica Okusko for Purple Haze Stables. It was one of three wins on the card for Wally Hennessey. Two divisions of the third leg of the Gary Kamal Memorial Pace Series were contested. John The Baptist won the first division. Amanda Kelley trains the 4-year-old gelding for S&K Misfit Racing and VIP Internet Stable. Andy Gardner trains the winner of the second division, Henceforth, a 3-year-old gelding owned by Kevin Gale and Nicholas T. Mackey. Driver Jim Devaux piloted the winners of both divisions.
Sunday, October 13th
Scott Mongeon trained By The Book, won the Open Trot on Sunday. Jay Randall drove the 5-year-old gelding for owners Charles Harrison, Frederick Barthelmas and Tina Murray. Sunday’s card also featured divisions of the Jim Derue Memorial Trot Series. Crazy Brother Jim, a 3-year-old gelding owned and trained by Rock Vinci, won the first division with Jim Devaux in the sulky. Phil Fluet drove Packmia to victory in the second division. Tim Dickie trains the 3-year-old gelding for owners Glenn and Cheryl Schnackenberg and Kellie Dickie. Scott Mongeon also trains the winner of the third division, But Why. Steven and Laura Stewart own the 3-year-old gelding. It was the second win of the day for driver Jim Devaux.
Monday, October 14th
Wally Hennessey drove 5-year-old Arizona to victory in the Filly & Mare Open Pace on Monday. Mark Beckwith trains the mare for owner Wendy Warren Timpano. There were two divisions of the third leg of the Bunny Lake Filly & Mare Pace Series. Driver, Shawn Gray, and trainer, Alicia Gray, swept both divisions with a pair of 3-year-old fillies. Mystic Bell, the winner of the first division, is owned by the Ervin Miller Stable and Bay Pond Racing Stable. Sweet Carollou won the second division for owner Douglas Overhiser.
Live racing at Saratoga Casino Hotel resumes on Saturday evening October 19 with first post set for 5:00 pm. Post time Sunday, Monday and Tuesday is 12 noon. Saturday, Sunday and Monday will feature the finals of the Gary Kamal Memorial Pace Series, the Jim Derue Memorial Trot Series and the Bunny Lake Filly & Mare Pace Series, respectively.
