Saratoga Casino Hotel Harness Racing Recap 10/5 – 10/7

Saturday, October 5th

Slip The Hundy N sprung the upset for the second consecutive Saturday night at Saratoga Casino Hotel. The Rob Harmon-trained pacer prevailed in the Open last week (Sept 28) while making his debut in the local feature. Jay Randall once again piloted slip the seven-year-old gelding for owner Mike Casalino Jr.

Saturday night also featured two divisions of Leg 2 of the Gary Kamal Memorial Pacing series. Henceforth won the first division. Jim Devaux drove the three-year-old gelding for trainer Andy Gardner and owners Kevin Gale and Nicholas T. Mackey. Major Decision won the second division. The four-year-old gelding also won in the first leg of the series. Shawn T. Gray drove for trainer Alicia Gray, who co-owns Major Decision with Dyce & Elizabeth Spalluto.

Sunday, October 6th

Domovoy made is Saratoga debut a winning one when he prevailed in the open trot on Sunday. David A. Dobblemann owns the four-year-old gelding who is trained by Michael Meza. Mitchell Cushing was in the sulky.

Two divisions of the Jim Derue Memorial Trotting series were contested on Sunday afternoon. Leg 1 winner, Escaper, scored again for trainer/driver Jordan Derue. Anthony Ciuffetelli owns the three-year-old male trotter. HL Likeilat won the second division. Harry Landy trains and drove the three-year-old for Share A Horse, Inc.

Monday, October 7th

Alittlesidehustl N (He’s Watching) won the Fillies and Mares Open for the third time this season Monday afternoon. Billy Dobson drove the Jackie Greene trainee to a wire-to-wire victory. Kellogg Racing Stables and Jackie Greene Stables own the six-year-old mare.

Bout Damn Time A won the first division of Leg 2 of the Bunny Lake Filly and Mare Pacing series. Amada Kelley trains the five-year-old mare, and Wally Hennessey drove for the VIP Internet Stables and S&K Misfit Racing. Wally Hennessey also piloted the winner of the second division, American Hope. Jaymes McAssey trains the three-year-old filly for Morrison Racing Stables.

Live racing resumes on Saturday evening Oct. 12th at Saratoga with a first post set for 5:00 pm. Post time Sunday and Monday is 12 noon.
