Saratoga Casino Hotel Harness Racing Recap 10/19 – 10/22/2024

Henceforth moved his record to three-for-three since joining the Andy Gardner stable. On Saturday night (Oct. 19) at Saratoga Casino Hotel, the three-year-old gelding won the $30,400 Gary Kamal Memorial Pace Final on Saturday. Henceforth also won two legs of the Kamal series. Jim Devaux drove the pacer who is owned in partnership by Kevin Gale and Nicholas Mackey.

Doc Nixon was the winner of the $34,300 Jim Derue Memoral Trot Final on Sunday (Oct 20) at Saratoga Casino Hotel. Aaron Byron drove the four-year-old gelding to victory for trainer Brianne Sinclair who owns the horse with Ashleigh Bailey and Amber Longo.

Also on Sunday, Scott Mongeon notched his 1,000th training win when But Why won the Jim Derue Memorial Trot Consolation. But Why is owned by Steven and Laura Stewart. Jim Devaux was in the sulky.

Bout Damn Time A secured the biggest win of her young career on Monday afternoon (Oct 21) at Saratoga Casino Hotel when the Amanda Kelley trainee prevailed in the $29,400 Final of the Bunny Lake Pacing Series. Bout Damn Time A had a win and a second in the series’ first two legs before sitting out leg three as a prep for Monday’s Final. Wally Hennessey piloted Bout Damn Time A in each of her local starts for owners VIP Internet Stable LLC and S&K Misfit Racing LLC.

Trainer Peg Spagnola scored a double on Tuesday (Oct 22) afternoon’s card at Saratoga Casino Hotel. A pair of Spagnola-trained three-year-old trotters secured victories in their respective $8,000 races. Billy Dobson drove three-year-old trotting filly Wow Love for owner, The Rabbit Hole Stable LLC. Premier Victor went coast-to-coast with driver Jimmy Devaux in the sulky to secure the second win of the day for the Spagnola barn. Premier Victor is owned by John Urbanowicz.

Live racing at Saratoga Casino Hotel resumes on Saturday evening October 26 with first post set for 5:00 pm. The seventh race on Saturday will be the Harness Racing For A Cure race. All drivers in race seven have pledged to donate their share of the purse to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, with Saratoga Casino Hotel matching the donation. Post time Sunday, Monday and Tuesday is 12 noon.
