Saratoga Casino Hotel and the Capital Fund of Saratoga County, Inc. enter a joint venture to keep the Saratoga Springs Horse Show within the City of Saratoga Springs

Saratoga Springs, NY (July 5, 2017) -The Capital Fund of Saratoga County, Inc. and Saratoga Casino Hotel have announced that the two groups will be working to keep the Saratoga Springs Horse Show in Saratoga Springs. Pending a definitive binding agreement, the three-week show will take place in May of 2018 at Saratoga Casino Hotel.

Beginning in 1961, the Saratoga Springs Horse Show has been a long-standing tradition that has been revered by equine fans and attended by some of the top equestrian talent in the Northeast.

“Partnering with Saratoga Casino Hotel will benefit all parties involved, including the city of Saratoga Springs,” said Tom Fueston, President of the Capital Fund of Saratoga County. “Our competitors have expressed a desire to keep the show within close proximity to downtown Saratoga, and our plan will accomplish that.”

“We are thrilled to play a part in this project and we look forward to keeping this long running tradition alive in Saratoga Springs,” said Skip Carlson, Vice President of External Affairs and Signature Service at Saratoga Casino Hotel.

Moving the Horse Show to Saratoga Casino Hotel will also provide the necessary infrastructure needed to pull off a show of this caliber. With over 800 stalls on property, the casino will be able to offer both the required grounds for hosting the show and barns needed to welcome over 500 anticipated horses that will be participating. The Capital Fund of Saratoga County is also planning to rely on their long-standing relationship with NYRA to request use of additional barns located close to the harness track.

The Capital Fund of Saratoga County and Saratoga Casino Hotel have enlisted the services of The LA Group of Saratoga Springs to assist in the design and planning of the grounds for the 2018 show at the new venue. Initial plans include warm up rings to be constructed on the grounds of the practice track at the casino, and the development of four set areas to host the four rings of the Horse Show. Sufficient space will also be allocated to accommodate the spectators and vendors associated with the show.

If you would like to help this show stay in Saratoga Springs with the 2018 venue transition, tax deductible donations are being accepted to help defray relocation costs.
