Rock N Roll Xample (Rocknroll Hanover) parlayed the pocket ride to victory in Friday’s feature at Saratoga Casino Hotel. Billy Dobson piloted the Rene Allard-trained mare in the $15,000 Fillies and Mares Open and got a two-hole trip for five year old distaffer. Rock N Roll Xample road the coattails of frontrunning rival Bettorhaveanother (Frank Coppola Jr) throughout before cruising up the passing lane to win in 1:54.1 over a sloppy track. Godiva Seelster (Wally Hennessey), the race’s even money favorite, came from last in the six horse Open before getting up to finish second. Bettorhaveanother earned the show spot. Rock N Roll Example, who was the race’s 9-5 second choice in the wagering, led an exacta and triple that returned $9.20 and $40.20, respectively.
