Rock It Scott & Matt Kakaley

Two year old pacing colts took center stage at Saratoga Casino Hotel on Friday night as the New York Sire Stakes were featured. There were four divisions of the $41,000+ Sire Stakes for freshman colts and a pair of Ron Burke trainees were the stars of the show. Miso Fast (Roll With Joe) and Rock It Scott (Roll With Joe) both prevailed in 1:54.3 while making their lifetime debut on Friday night. Miso Fast came first over and went a 55 second back half en route to a three and a half length romp. His stablemate Rock It Scott wasted no time going to the lead and powered away from his rivals to prevail by four and a half lengths. Both Burke trainees were piloted to their maiden win by Matt Kakaley. The Steve Elliott-trained Music Is Art (Art Major) made his lifetime debut a winning one in his $42,025 division of the Sire Stakes going wire-to-wire in 1:55.3 with Wally Hennessey in the sulky. The fourth winner among the freshman pacing colts on the night was Pointomygranson (American Ideal) who scored in his lifetime debut for trainer Chris Ryder and driver Jim Morrill Jr. in 1:55.1.

Live racing continues on Saturday night at Saratoga with a first post time set for 6:45pm.
