9Hall of Fame harness driver, Wally Hennessey, has been a summer regular at Saratoga Casino Hotel since 1987. Prior to that, he was a top driver in the Maritimes and at Exhibition Park in New Brunswick, Canada.

Wally was the leading driver at Saratoga Casino Hotel from 1987 – 1995, while also becoming the winningest driver in the history of Pompano Park in Florida

Wally has won many top stakes races across the country, and for many years he was known as the “King of the New York Sire Stakes.” On July 23, 2022, he won the 13th Annual Joe Gerrity Jr. Memorial Pace at Saratoga Casino Hotel with Tattoo Artist.

Wally was inducted into the Saratoga Harness Hall of Fame in 2001, The Prince Edward Island Sports Hall of Fame in 2006, the US Harness Racing Hall of Fame in 2007, and the Canadian Horse Racing Museum in 2014.

Wally has over 11,000 driving victories in his career and has won over $78 million in lifetime purses. He finished fifth in the Saratoga Casino Hotel drivers’ standings in 2023 with 123 wins.
