Dan Daley’s Aces And Eights (RC Royalty) spent the majority of his summer racing in the New York Sire Stakes. The three year old trotter, who also participated in the $70,000 Zweig at Vernon in August, came to Saratoga Casino Hotel last week to compete in the feature for New York sired trotters. Aces And Eights made a break in that start as the public’s 6-5 betting favorite. Daley returned to town on Thursday afternoon with Aces And Eights who once again wound up as the public’s choice as he competed in the $11,250 co-feature for trotters. This week, the sophomore stayed flat and wound up overpowering his rivals to the tune of a fifteen length victory. Aces And Eights, who is both trained and driven by Daley, opened up a big lead early on and saw that lead grow throughout the mile before stopping the timer in 1:56 in the dominant score. It was only the second victory of the year for Aces And Eights who looks to be on the major swing heading into the final portion of the 2017 racing season. The other co-feature was one by Bob Dill’s Coastal Region (RC Royalty) who went wire-to-wire in 1:59.1 over a track labeled ‘good’ with Jay Randall in the sulky.
Live racing continues on Friday night at Saratoga with a first post time of 6:45pm.
