Jordan Derue moved to Saratoga from Canada with his family when he was a teenager. He began driving in the races and was awarded the Johnny Page Up & Coming Driver Award in 2009.

Jordan also trains a stable of horses and was voted SCH/SHHA Horseman of the Year in 2014.

Jordan was the owner, trainer and driver of the 2023 SCH/SHHA Horse of the Year, Always Watching.
