Dealin With Dewey sprung the upset in the Saturday feature at Saratoga Casino Hotel. Wally Hennessey catch-drove the veteran trotter for owner/trainer Sara Baillargeon and moved the longshot out to the early lead in the $18,000 Open Trot. Dismissed at odds of 13-1, Dealin With Dewey rattled off a first half in a comfortable 58.1 while traveling unopposed on the lead. The first challenge to the leader came as the field high-stepped past three quarters in 1:26.3 and some of the race’s top betting choices began to close in. The favorite Spaaaazano (Kyle Swift) made steady progress late before becoming a stretch threat to challenge Dealin With Dewey while pocket-sitting But Why (Aaron Byron) closed up the rail. The leader showed no signs of letting up late and in fact padded his lead late before stopping the timer in 1:56.2 as a winner by two and a quarter lengths. Spaaaazano came on to finish second while But Why earned the show spot. Dealin With Dewey’s win was his second in the local Open Trot this season and his seventh victory in 2026 overall. With the earnings from his Saturday score, the eight year old moved over the $90,000 mark for ’26 while in pursuit of another six-figure campaign.
