Jackie Greene scored a training triple on the Monday card at Saratoga Casino Hotel. The two-time Spa training champion won the feature with Spaaaazano among her trio of trotters to prevail on the matinee program. Spaaaazano was piloted by leading driver Kyle Swift when he drew post position four for his try in the $18,000 Open Trot. Flashing early speed, Spaaaazano sat the pocket to upset-minded Dealin With Dewey (Aaron Byron) who cut the mile at odds of 21-1. The longshot leader coasted unopposed in a first half in 58.4 before being challenged by Wolfpack Zach (Jacob Cutting), a fourteen-time winner in 2026, past three quarters in 1:27.1. Dealin With Dewey faced a two-pronged challenge in the stretch as Wolfpack Zach tried to grind him into submission and Spaaaazano shook free in final sixteenth of a mile before he trotted up to win it in 1:56.1. Spaaaazano was the 8-5 second-choice in the wagering in the feature as he recorded his third Open Trot victory of the year. Greene’s completed her training hat trick when young trotters Greenarrow Hanover and Notatthetablecarlos scored Monday victories in their respective $11,750 races. Greenarrow Hanover’s win, with Aaron Byron in the bike, came in his local debut while Notatthetablcarlos repeated for Swift and Greene.
Live racing resumes on Saturday at Saratoga with a matinee that begins at 12pm.
