Saratoga Harness Racing Recap – Tuesday 6/2

He’s So Smart (American Ideal) scored a front-running win in one of the co-featured races on the Tuesday card at Saratoga Casino Hotel. The Melissa Beckwith trainee finished third in his local debut last week when participating in the New York Sire Stakes Excelsiors. The three-year-old pacer was the 4-5 betting favorite in his division of the $9,700 non-winners of two race lifetime pace contested on a beautiful afternoon in the Spa City. He’s So Smart surged out to the lead under the guidance of reinsman Aaron Byron and cruised through a first half in 58 seconds. The favorite never faced an anxious moment while rattling off three quarters in 1:27 and pacing away to win in 1:56.1. He’s So Smart bested pocket-sitting Always On Par (Chris Long) by a length and three-quarters. Prince Of Terror (Wally Hennessey) closed to finish third. It was the second win in four seasonal tries for the three year old pacer who is owned by Pollack Racing LLC.

Live racing resumes on Monday afternoon at Saratoga with a matinee scheduled to begin at 12pm.
