Sassy Massy (Muscle Mass) extended her win streak to three in Wednesday’s co-feature at Saratoga Casino Hotel. The four year old Cheryl Whitcroft trainee had recorded only one win in her first 26 starts this season before hitting a hot streak in October. Sassy Massy grinded out back-to-back first-over victories in Wednesday co-features for New York sired trotters heading into her most recent start going for a purse of $10,000. Driver Mark Whitcroft again moved Sassy Massy first-up approaching the half and she simply overpowered her competition en route to scoring in 2:00 for her third consecutive victory. The afternoon’s other co-featured event for New York sired trotters went to Travel Winner (Credit Winner). A beaten favorite at odds-on in two straight entering Wednesday, Travel Winner made good this week on the engine, prevailing in 1:59 with Mark Beckwith in the bike. The three year old Travel Winner became a recent addition to the stable of Melissa Beckwith after competing in the $225,000 NY Sire Stakes Final in September following a strong summer in stakes tries for his previous connections.
Live racing continues on Thursday afternoon at Saratoga with first post time set for 12 Noon. There will be a $5,000 guarantee in the Pick Five pool on Thursday with the Pick Five beginning in the matinee’s first race.
