Spinarama & Austin Siegelman

The longshots just kept coming on Saturday night at Saratoga Casino and Raceway. A week full of big price winners continued in the $18,190 Open Pace as Spinarama (Cam’s Card Shark) parlayed his pocket ride to victory in 1:54.2. The Allan Johnson trainee was dismissed at odds of 34-1 despite being the runner up in the previous week’s feature. Austin Siegelman sat behind the five year old pacer as he pounced on front-running Mystical Valentine (Jason Ryan) in the stretch to record his first ever win in the local open. Mystical Valentine was a close second while Village Jackson (Jim Devaux) earned the show spot. The upset victory for Spinarama was the seventh winner of the weekend that prevailed at odds of 20-1 or higher.

Live racing resumes on Wednesday night at Saratoga with 6:45pm first post.
