Camdee & Jay Randall
Camdee (Western Ideal) was the star of the night on Wednesday at Saratoga Casino and Raceway. The sophomore filly was taking part in just her seventh lifetime race and started from post eight. Having to move three wide heading to the half mile pole, Camdee (Jay Randall) unleashed a backstretch blitz in the third quarter and sprinted away from her rivals after pouncing on the favored Know It All (John Stark Jr). Camdee drew away to win in 1:55.4, one of the fastest times of the night for any horse on the humid evening at the Spa. It also served as a career best for the three year old filly who is trained by Bert Belanger and now has three wins in her seven lifetime tries. Criterion Hanover (Harry Landy) closed to be second and Nomo Doctor O (Frank Coppola Jr) ran third in the $6,000 pace.
Live racing resumes on Friday night at Saratoga with a first post set for 6:45pm.
