Mark is from a third generation of harness racers.  His grandfather, father and three uncles have been in the harness racing business.  Mark's first job was with his father. Mark has raced over a dozen different tracks.

Mark states his favorite horses are Renoir and Four Starz Bling.  Mark has attained titles as leading trainer at Rosecroft, leading driver at Yonkers, and won the Miller Memorial at Rosecroft Raceway.  Mark won his first race in 1983 with Pine Bud Kash.

Mark came to Saratoga Harness as a catch-driver in early 2008 for a while and then stayed on for the 2009 race meet.  People began to turn to him to catch-driver their horses, and Mark reached his 4000th win May 21, 2009 with a horse owned and trained by Francis Mahoney Jr., Windy City Paige, in 1:57.3.  Mark has been in the top four drivers of the meet for the past few years.

Mark is a very likeable person that enjoys all sports, and tries not to miss the Red Sox games.  His wife, Melissa, is the trainer on their horses.

On October 22, 2015, Mark reached 5,000 lifetime wins, driving 3-year-old trotter, Jericho. He is only the 102 driver registered with the USTA to achieve this milestone.
