Cheryl was born and raised alongside her father (Percy Davis) since 1976. She has worked at Pompano, Buffalo and Batavia. Her first win was with French Coast at Saratoga in 1984.

A highlight of her career came with the thrill of having a horse you breed, raised and trained win the Landmark, NYSS and Series at Vernon with Johnny Tripntrot. Cheryl lists Jonny Tripntrot as one of her favorite horses, having raised and trained his to win the Landmark, NYSS and Series at Vernon; Landsend Lobell, ($800 purchase and was claimed for $10,000), Cordelia Gray (pet factor), Hang On Newt (won 25 races), All Systems Ago C (won LC Final and set track record of 2:01.3 as a two-year-old trotter in 2001 and also 2yr. Old Trotter of the Year). Cheryl was award the prestigious Horsewoman of the Year honors in the years of 1999-2001.

Cheryl’s hobbies include showing quarter horses; pleasure, barrel and team penning. Her stable helper, Mary Austin, is really like part of the family, who does a great job and makes her laugh. The Whitcrofts have two children, Steve and Jeremy.

Cheryl’s pet peeves are people who do not respect the effort put in by both horses and people in the horse industry. Cheryl stated that there are many good and kind people in our horse community.
