Billy began racing horses at an early age of  20. Billy came to Saratoga in 2010 and began to take on catch drives at a rapid pace.  He is a sharp driver that likes to head to the top in a race. 

Billy eventually took over with 263 wins for the year at Saratoga. He was awarded 2010 Johnny Page Award for the break-through driver and also Driver of the Year honors.  He tied award honors for 2010 Horseman of the Year with Frank Coppola Jr.

In 2011, Billy was awarded the 2011 Driver Of The Year at Saratoga Raceway.  Billy was also the main driver

of  Horse of the Year, Lorenzo Dream, among other top horses that year.  As a repeat of 2011, Billy was again awarded Horseman of the Year and 2012 Driver of the Year at Saratoga Raceway, and  he also drove the Horse of the Year, Trotter of the Year and Aged Trotter of the Year 'Mymomsablizzard', along with many other top horses.
