GRANT APPLICATIONS NOW BEING ACCEPTED BY SARATOGA CASINO AND RACEWAY FOUNDATION

SARATOGA SPRINGS, New York (September 26, 2012) – The Saratoga Casino and Raceway Foundation is currently accepting grant applications for the 2012 cycle. The Foundation exists to support charitable and public benefit organizations whose mission is the betterment of quality of life, health and welfare of Saratoga County residents.
To qualify for a grant, organizations must be classified as a not-for-profit organization by the Internal Revenue Service. Applicant organizations must carry out services and activities that benefit the residents of Saratoga County. Activities that address problem gambling, support youth, senior citizens, recreation, arts and community benefit are given priority.
The deadline for grant request filing is October 22, 2012. The Foundation Board will act on the grant applications by November 2, 2012. Awards will be distributed at the regular meeting of the Saratoga County Board of Supervisors on November 20, 2012.
“We are very proud of the Foundation partnership formed by the Saratoga County Board of Supervisors, the Saratoga Horseperson’s Association and Saratoga Casino and Raceway,” commented Foundation treasurer Skip Carlson. “The feedback from the organizations that receive grants is heartwarming and the Foundation Board is looking forward to the grant process in the coming weeks.”

The Saratoga Casino and Raceway Foundation is funded by Saratoga Casino and Raceway and the Saratoga Harness Horsepersons Association. The Foundation has funded over $250,000 in grants to more than 150 organizations since 2004.
